“Dearest lord,
teach me to be generous; teach me to serve you
as you deserve; to give and not to count the
cost.”

Caring for Our Spiritual Home
Just as we are called upon to exercise good
stewardship in tending to our homes—ensuring the
safety, security, stability, and strength of our
families—so are we as members of a faith community
called upon to be wise stewards of our church, which
serves as our spiritual home, constitutes our family
of shared belief and practice, and acts as the
foundation upon which our living faith is built.
Balancing the budget isn’t easy for any of us, these
days. Effectively managing the ever rising costs of
housing, fuel, electricity, healthcare, education,
etc., requires us all to focus daily on setting wise
priorities and exercising the economic discipline
that will provide the greatest long-term benefits to
our homes, our families, and our communities. The
church, likewise, feels the impact of this increased
cost of living. Now, more than ever,
we rely upon your generosity.
Your dedication to the church, and your
contributions of time, effort, skill, and money make
it possible for St. Mary’s to continue to meet its
financial obligations, and
to grow and thrive as a faith community.
