Extracurricular Activities

At St. Mary's, we strive to offer an enriching range of after school courses and activities.  This year, the following extracurricular activities are available:  

Sports

HuddleFifth through eighth grade students may participate in the following St. Mary's Bobcats sports:

  • Coed Soccer
  • Girls Volleyball:  See current schedule.
  • Boys Basketball
  • Girls Basketball
  • Coed Track and Field

A current sports physical and proof of health insurance are required for sports participation.

Game schedules and practice times are are included on our school calendar.

Music

St. Mary's students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular music activities led by expert instructor Jo Noonan:

  • Choir
  • Piano Lessons*
  • Guitar Lessons*
  • Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass Lessons*
  • Voice Lessons*
  • Theatrical ProductionsCaroling

Additionally, all students perform in our annual Christmas production.

*Private voice and music lessons are available to St. Mary's students at a discounted rate:  $15.00 per half hour session.

Language

St. Mary's offers after school Spanish language instruction once per week via the Discovery Language Program.

These after school enrichment courses encourage students to build language skills through games, songs, and hands-on activities.  Children also increase their understanding of other cultures and their awareness of multicultural issues.

Scouting

Parent volunteers organize Boy and Girl Scout troops according to student interest.  Troop meetings typically take place after school once or twice per month.  Several weekend events and activities are often also included.  Students enjoy the opportunity to deepen their friendships, extend their community involvement, and build their skills beyond classroom and school.

Chess Scholars

No previous knowledge of chess is necessary. Each class will include both a fun, interactive instructional period and guided practice time.  Develop your child's intellect through the royal game of chess! New and returning participants welcome.  See the Chess Scholars site for further information.
