Spotlight Volunteers | Three for Me Program
PTO
The success of St. Mary Parish School depends greatly on the assistance we receive from volunteers. Whether you are a parent, a grandparent or another important person in the life of a St. Mary student, the time you donate is always greatly appreciated. Please review the information available below, and remember that God has a special calling for each one of us. There are many areas in which you can volunteer. Every volunteer truly makes a difference to our school and to your child.
Protecting God's Children
All adults working with children in the Diocese of Joliet are required to attend and be certified in the Protecting God’s Children program. Certification sessions, which require a three hour time commitment, are held throughout the year. Local sessions will be listed on our school calendar.

This year, St. Mary's will be using PTO Manager to coordinate volunteers. This web based tool allows us to register volunteers, assign volunteers to events, schedule work assignments, communicate with our volunteers through email, and track hours worked on events. This tool will make it much easier and more efficient for our event coordinators to manage their committees. |
Spotlight Volunteers
Shining the Light on People who Make a Difference!
“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the
same spirit gives them. There are different ways of serving, but the same
Lord is served. There are different abilities to perform service, but the
same God gives ability to all for their particular services.”
1 Corinthians 12: 4-6
Every day at St. Mary’s School, we are blessed to have opportunities to serve and be served – to make a difference in the lives of students, teachers and families in ways that are not easily measured. The gifts that we receive from the Holy Spirit allow us to have an impact on our world, in our classrooms and with each other. And we’re proud to say that at St. Mary’s, it’s always a season for giving and receiving. At any given moment, on any given day, volunteers are using their time and talents in small ways that collectively make a big difference!
To highlight the significance of our volunteers and their acts of kindness, the St. Mary’s PTO will shine a spotlight on various individuals throughout the year and introduce each as “someone you should know.” The new Volunteer Spotlight program will include: a certificate of recognition to the designated volunteer, an announcement flyer (to go home with students), recognition on our PTO Web page, and a special feature on the St. Mary's Voices Blog.
We recognize the value of each and every volunteer--from auction organizers and class party helpers to Market Day sorters and yearbook editors. Together they help foster the spirit of giving and the sense of family that are so uniquely St. Mary’s. They are the reason we can say with pride: St. Mary’s School volunteers don’t only make a difference, they make the difference!

Our new web-based software will also give you the opportunity to sign up for our Three for Me program. Three for Me is a promise from you to your child and the school that you will volunteer three hours of your time at or on behalf of the school. Whether it is making copies for a teacher, helping at a PTO event, or helping your child practice reading or math, it’s all important and it all counts. The new software will help us track these hours. Once you have completed your three hours, we will send home a special project for you and your child to fill out and return to the school. We will proudly display these projects in the main hallways of the school to mark your achievement. If you fill out the paper volunteer form instead, simply sign the promise on the last page and one of our volunteers will enter the data in the system for you. Remember that God has a special calling for each one of us. Please prayerfully consider giving us some of your valuable time. We need you and you make a difference to our school and our children!
