Mrs. Ray

Catholic ClassroomMrs. Janet Ray received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Illinois State University in 1984. She began her teaching career as Preschool Teacher in a privately owned daycare/learning center located in Palatine, IL. There, she worked her way through the ranks, assuming the position of Director in 1986. From 1986-1989, intrigued by opportunities in the business world, Mrs. Ray worked as a consultant for an engineering oriented executive search firm located in Schaumburg, IL. The following nine years she devoted strictly to starting and raising her family.

In 1996, Mrs. Ray reentered the field of teaching at St. Mary's as a substitute teacher for Preschool through Eighth Grade. From 1996-1998, Mrs. Ray continued to serve as a substitute teacher at St. Mary's. In the Fall of 1998, she was hired full-time for the position of Preschool Teacher. She taught Preschool for three years, then began teaching First Grade in the Fall of 2001.

Mrs. Ray and her husband currently reside in Hanover Park, IL, where they have lived for 15 years, with their two daughters.

The thing Mrs. Ray likes most about teaching at St. Mary's School is the warm and friendly working and learning environment. Since the moment she first set foot in St. Mary's School in 1996, she has appreciated the feeling of warmth that she senses flowing throughout the school.
